June 8th FEMA announced the theme for September 2023’s National Preparedness Month– Preparing Older Adults for Disaster. In a the press release FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell “urged FEMA’s critical partners, emergency managers and all those who work with and support older adult communities to access the new webpage available in English and Spanish languages at Ready.gov/older-adults and Ready.gov/es/adultos-mayores for initial messaging, graphics and resources.” It was also noted that further resources will be posted at these same sites in the coming weeks.
